It was an honor to shape the creative direction for the 2025 World Information Architecture Day global conference. In 2018, I went to my very first WIAD event in DC and found a community of brilliant and warm thought leaders and gatherers pioneering the field of Information Design. It was because of this space that I was affirmed in my pursuit of a career exploring and imagining how we share ideas and build collective knowledge.
This year's theme was the Challenges of Change, which holds true on many levels of our collective experience-- the climate crisis, the emerging political coup, the concerted genocide in the Congo and Palestine, and the social budding of ai. This inspired a visual theme of pixelated disruption and re-imagination of the world as we know it. The templates were created for designers around the world to build their presentations and gather their creative communities for this catalytic global event.
